It is good to find fun ways to explain things, as it means I can teach quite complicated but really cool stuff to even quite young children. In fact, I have made DNA models out of sweets and played a version of disease ‘Top Trumps’ to help a Brownie pack with their Science badge. I would really like to be able to do similar things with the Guides, Cubs and Scouts too – fun science doesn’t just have to be done at school! Winning ‘I’m a Scientist’ would allow me to create a better box of kit to bring with me, with even more fun activities.

For now though, I’ve put some activities on my profile page for you to have a go at! Click on my face up the top, and then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to find instructions on how to build an edible DNA model, a chance to try being a disease detective for yourself, and a true or false quiz about cool disease facts. Enjoy!
