      It depends on a lot of factors such as the mode of spreading. infections that are airborne are more easily spread that for example those that are tramsmitted through blood. Also most infectious things such as viruses and bacteria have their favourite cells in which they can survive. So something that infects the skin is much more easily spread than something that infects a specific type of cell such as the neurons.
