The proteins I study are those that perform chemical reactions – enzymes. The proteins in your muscles are structural proteins.

However, I am not unfamiliar with going to the gym to work on building up my own physique. I will tell you there is no quick solution and to gain muscle you will need a good balance of work, rest and nutrition. The key to the workout is to push you muscles until you cannot move any more weights focus on just one muscle group so that the next day you can work on another group. What you’ll be doing is pulling your muscle fibres and as they heal, during the rest time, they will alter their shape and your muscle mass will improve.

Finally diet. To build muscle you need a healthy in take a protein you can get all you need from decent normal food. I don’t like supplements as they may give you kidney problems. No fast food and no alcohol will also help to get the body you want.

Hope that helps. No quick fix but then that’s life I’m afraid.

I would agree with Peter. I specialise in viral and human proteins that are important for basic functions.
However, there are several types if supplementary proteins that can be used to build muscle mass. A good dietician will be able to guide you better on that.
