I work mostly in the UK at the moment. In the past I worked in Ireland, France and for a short period of time in Uganda (East Africa).
I have done a little bit of traveling and I hope to do a lot more in the future, for scientists there is often a lot of need to travel to different places for conferences.
As well as conferences, for me at least I would really like to carry out work in Africa and Asia as I would love to work on bats in these areas and hopefully figure out what sort of viruses they might have and investigate if these viruses might someday be a risk to people.
I’m based in England. I don’t get to travel quite as much as I’d like, but I was in Arizona, America in May for an HIV conference. It is really important to share your work with other scientists, and often this is easiest in person. Conferences are a great opportunity to meet lots of other scientists and get inspired on new projects, and they take place all over the world. If possible, I try to extend my trip so I can explore a bit too. I’d really like for one of my next conferences to be in Australia or New Zealand, as I’ve never been there!
