• Question: My great grandmother, grandmother and now my mum have had breast cancer how likely is it that i will have cancer ?

      I’m not a cancer expert so I can’t answer you questions. If you are worried you should go and talk to your GP who should be able to help.

      Dear Zisandon

      There is no clear link between breast cancer and heredity. While it has been shown that people with strong family history of breast cancer have a slightly increased risk, most people who develop breast cancer have no family history. So whether you have a family history or not, it is important to discuss this with your GP and be aware of the risk factors that cause it. Also, you should start getting regular check ups from early on.
