The short answer is breath taking.

I was working on a private game reserve very near to Kruger national park. The main focus was on animal tracking a behaviour studies. This meant getting up at 4.30 am every day as that’s when the animals of interest were most active. I got to see lions, leopards, elephants and rhinos at very close proximities. I was also fortunate in being able to walk with wild cheetahs an experience I won’t soon forget. The data that was collected was studied on the computer by myself and other universities who used the information to better appreciate how to manage animals in our reserve and others too.

The best part is that anyone can also get involved as there are a wide range of activities that can be done in the place I was staying. You will meet loads of interesting people on the reserve and also many local South Africans too.
